About Our Pastor:

Pastor Donald Belcher Sr. has been faithfully serving in ministry for over 35 years. He has followed God’s call as both evangelist and pastor, dedicating his life to spreading the Gospel and shepherding God’s people.

After pastoring a church for nearly nine years in St. Marys, Georgia, he sensed the Lord leading him to North Georgia. There, he and his wife, Meli, spent three years traveling and evangelizing before the Lord directed him to establish River of Hope Baptist Church in Carnesville, Georgia.

Pastor Donald accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and Lord on October 28, 1984 at Wards Creek Baptist Church, after hearing the Gospel message preached by the late Pastor Earl Ashe of Green Cove Springs, Florida.

He stands firmly on the unchanging Word of God and believes that wherever the Lord calls one to serve, they are to remain faithful in evangelism—boldly sharing the truth of God’s Word and the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

The Pastor’s Wife

Mary (Meli) McQuaig Belcher has a deep love for both her Savior, Jesus Christ, and people! She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord at the young age of seven beginning a lifelong journey of trusting Him faithfully in all things! She earned her degree in Religious Education from Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary and has served faithfully beside her husband. She is the author of several children’s books, a 31-Day Scripture Devotional for women titled “Bloom" and her latest devotional, "In His Presence", Grace for the Journey.

With a love for God's Word and a heart for encouragement, she is compassionate about helping women break free from the echoes of their past and find healing, and renewed strength in the Lord for the present. She often states, "When we step into the vestibule of God’s presence, broken becomes beautiful!"
